Strengthening Posture PracticeThe nine strengthening postures of the Lion system will be practiced with a focus on achieving the correct alignment.
Foundational Strike PracticeThe first four days will focus on drilling and applying the 24 Foundational Strikes from the Lion system. The focus will be on single action strike training, mainly in the square and 3-step methods. Two of the 8 Lion system attack methods will be covered each day, with emphasis on the coordination of stepping and body movement to complete the issuing of force in the strikes.

Strengthening Posture PracticeReview of Lion system strengthening postures carried out with an emphasis on the important mental aspects of the practice.
Strike Combinations PracticeTraining combinations of strikes from all of the 8 Lion system attack methods, with emphasis on how to effectively change forces from one strike to the next, mainly in the square and 3-step methods.
Forms PracticeForms from the Lion system will be practiced, including adding depth of understanding and intent, grasping the degree of attack and defense contained as the practitioner changes from one technique to the next. Improving the expression of Yin Style Bagua's "cold, crisp, and fast" characteristics.
Additionally, an introduction to elements of some of the remaining seven animal systems of Yin Style Bagua - their commonalities and differences, and how they work together - is also planned.
Circle Walking PracticeThe Lion system's representational method of circle walking will be practiced, with a focus on achieving the correct posture and alignment so that the practitioner benefits from the physical conditioning and the Qi development aspects of the practice. Established practitioners will in addition focus on how to be rooted and maintain whole body connection throughout the practice.
Applications PracticeApplications training including the effect of stepping on usage through matching and coordinating appropriate changes in stepping, coordination of speed, weight, and cadence of stepping. Stepping training taking stepping patterns from forms and strike combinations, changing stepping, and examining the results of different kinds of stepping.
Dadao (Large Saber) PracticeThe focus of the first hour will be the training of individual movements and basic exercises with the saber to increase strength and coordination and to correct some of the more common problems that occur during saber practice.
The second hour will be the practice of the Nine Dragon Saber Form with a focus on the use of body movement, accuracy of saber techniques, rhythm of movements while executing the form, and applications of the form will be covered.
Those not participating in the Dadao session, may continue to practice emptyhand techniques, watch the Dadao class or go home.

Daily rate of £65 or 13 days for £650 (saving £195)
Register and pay 20% deposit before the end of February 2009 and get: Discounted daily rate of £57.50 or 13 days for £575 (saving £270)
The fee is subject to review and covers the tuition for the main daytime sessions - meals, accommodation and travel is the participant's responsibility. Other sessions may be separately priced.
PrerequisitePrior training experience in the Lion system of Yin Style Baguazhang is required.
